Obituary

Randall “Randy” A. Oesch, 66, of the Niles and Youngstown area, was born on May 15, 1955 in Salem, Ohio, the son of Joyce Edwards and Virgil Oesch. Randy also had the nickname “Grumpy Pants”.
He passed on Friday, May 28, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Family was who he was all about.
Randy had been employed by the Hanna Cleaning Services for many years.
He was a loving husband to Valerie Kralj Oesch. They were married on February 23, 1988 and she was the love of his life. Randy was a great family man and a loving father.
Randy was a hard-working man. He enjoyed camping with family and friends. He was a friend to anyone that crossed his path. Randy never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He was known for his jokes, trying to always make people smile and laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie; his son, Joseph Oesch of Youngstown, Ohio; his two daughters, Nicole (Charles) Oesch Whittaker of Hubbard, Ohio and Amanda Oesch of Youngstown, Ohio; his foster daughter, Michelle Smiltzer; his four grandsons, who he cherished and called him papa, Taylor Whittaker, Julian Whittaker, Mason Whittaker and Daniel Beatty. He was a proud papa. Randy is also survived by his brothers, David Oesch and Tom Oesch both of Dayton, Texas; his sister, Rebecca Oesch Wisor of Niles, Ohio and many nieces and nephews who fondly called him “Uncle Meany”.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Virgil; his brother, Raymond Oesch; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vera and Joseph Kralj and his nephews, Jacob, Alex and Josh.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
