Obituary for Jenise M. Lightner

On January 5th, 2019, at 12:35 a.m., Jenise Marie Gossett Lightner lost her battle with cancer. After a long health battle, she was called home. She was born on August 13, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Jenise grew up in East Millsboro, Pennsylvania and was a 1981 graduate of Brownsville High School.

Jenise was the daughter of Alfred “Sonny” and Norma Jean Gossett and the step-daughter of Henrietta Gossett.

Jenise and Harry LaVern LIghtner were united in marriage on December 11, 1991 in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania. She raised her daughters in Oil City, Pennsylvania and was living in Sharon, Pennsylvania at the time of her passing. Before her illness, Jenise loved horses and the outdoors. Jenise was a devout Christian and prayed often. She adored her dogs, mainly her beloved dog, Romeo.

By her side at the time of her death was her devoted husband of twenty-seven years, Harry LaVern Lightner. She was a proud mother of her three daughters, Shaylyn Harms, 35, of New Castle, Johnette King, 33, of New Castle and Harlee Lightner, 27, of Meadville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Lane, thirteen years old, Layla, eleven years old and Justyce, eight years old and her three siblings, her older brother, Robert Gossett, her older sister, Deborah Gossett and her younger sister, Kimberly Gossett.

A memorial service will be held on January 11, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Eastgate Christian Church, 240 Church Street, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, 16150.
