Obituary for Roberta Clarise Flanagan

Bertie was called home September 23, after faithfully completing all that God had sent her here to do.
Born on February 2, 1947 in Warren, Michigan, she was one of four children. She and her family moved to Ohio where Bertie would serve as a nurse’s aide for 36 years. It was much more than just a job to her because she loved to care for others and countless lives were touched with her talent.
She lived life with abundant passion and brought joy with here every place she went. Bertie was enthusiastic about all of the best things in her life: her sisters, her family, her amazing friends, good music and plenty of dancing.
She devoted herself to the lives of her nieces and nephews and their children. She blessed them with endless love, acceptance, and laughter and taught them valuable life lessons. Lessons such as: Don’t take yourself so seriously all the time, laugh it off, dare to be different, and love without any limits. Her legacy will live on through generations who were influenced by her.
She is survived by her loving and purely devoted sisters- Elizabeth Davy and Denise (Roger) Wine of Columbiana and their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in parting by her parents, Roland and Alice Morehead and her brother Samuel Steffes.
Bertie’s wishes are to forgo the traditional funeral arrangements with hopes that donations may be made to a cancer charity or the Hospice House. There will be a celebration of life held in her honor at a future date.
May God comfort and keep family and friends through this time of sorrow. And may God be with Bertie until we meet again.
