Life Story for Delbert Eugene Yeager

Delbert Eugene Yeager
Delbert Eugene Yeager, 76, went home to rejoice with his Lord on August 25, 2018. Delbert was born on July 17, 1942 in Warren, Ohio, the second son of Donald R. and Margaret Richards Yeager.

Having lived in the area all his life, Delbert graduated in 1960 from Warren G. Harding High School. He was employed for nearly 35 years by Packard Electric Division of General Motors Corp., the majority in Plant 3 on Dana Street. He also remembered fondly the years he worked at Steve’s Superette on the west side of Warren.

His hobbies were fishing, hunting and woodworking.

For twenty years, Delbert faithfully served his Lord as a minister of the Gospel as associate Pastor at Jesus Is The Way Ministries in Liberty Township and Girard, Ohio working alongside Senior Pastor, Barbara Dobranchin. Prior to this, he served under Evangelist Jean Sandy in her ministry for over 17 years. He was raised in First Assembly of God Church in Warren, Ohio. He enjoyed ministering to the people; seeing the joy on their faces and watching as they overcame their afflictions with the Lord’s help.

It was Delbert’s joy to share the Word of God with others. He was faithful to study the Word even as his health declined towards the end of this life. His favorite scripture is 2 Timothy 1:12 - “For these things I suffer, but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him until that Day”. His favorite song was “Because He Lives” written by Bill Gaither. He had a love of eagles and collected ceramic eagles and pictures over the years. In 2002, Delbert was blessed to go on a mission trip to Mexico.

Delbert was a faithful and loving husband as well as a good provider for his wife of almost 37 years, Darlene Batchelder Mounts Yeager, whom he married on October 27, 1981. He was the proud father of Jeffrey Yeager and Jill Gibboney and helped to raise his stepdaughter, Melinda Bass. Along with his wife and his 3 children, he leaves to cherish his memories, his “favorite” daughter-in-law, Connie Yeager; seven grandchildren whom he loved very much – Micah, Jocelyn and Krista Yeager, Autumn Gibboney, Dallas Pal and Kyle and Ethan Bass; his two beautiful great granddaughters who brought him much joy – Lilianna Hope and Lyla Elizabeth Polosky; his only brother, Donald R. Yeager of Orange Park, Florida; his dog, Jack, who was his loyal companion and a host of other family and friends. Delbert was a mentor to his family, praying for them daily and instructing them in the ways of the Lord.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sons-in-law, Daniel Bass and Dennis Gibboney, his brother-in-law, Wayne Batchelder, his father-in-law, Delbert Batchelder and his mother-in-law, Pollyanna Batchelder.

A rejoicing service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Brentford House Banquet Hall, 737 Myron Street, Hubbard, Ohio with a light lunch to follow. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help defray costs be made to Yeager c/o P.O. Box 460, Girard, Ohio 44420

Delbert fought a good fight, he finished his course, he kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7).
