Life Story for Sally Jane Allen

Sally Jane Allen
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sally J. Allen, 83, who passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, peacefully in her home with her family by her side. Sally was born in Warren, Ohio, on December 21, 1934, to Thomas and Evelyn Hudson Glass. Sally married the love of her life, Frank Allen, on December 29, 1950. They would spend the next 67 years together, building their family and making many memories that all have come to cherish. Together they had three children, Frank (Leigh Ann) Allen of Champion, T.J. (Bonnie) Allen of Cortland, and Bobby (Carla) Allen of Howland.
Sally and Frank started their journey in Warren, Ohio, and in 1978, moved to West Farmington, Ohio, where they kept their loving home to this day. Sally was employed as the Head Cook at Warren Western Reserve Schools, and retired with 20 years of service.
Sally’s love for cooking will be missed by all, but especially by her family, who will miss her famous homemade spaghetti sauce, her delicious homemade pies with the most amazing crust, and her oatmeal cookies, just to name a few. She spoiled her family, and when requested, would make her delicious homemade waffles and fresh coffee for breakfast on Sunday. No one yet has been able to duplicate her recipes.
Sally was the life of the party, always playing tricks on her family and laughing at everything and everyone’s jokes. Her favorite past times were sitting by the bonfire on summer nights with her family all around, laughing, joking, and eating her well-loved chili sauce and hot dogs. Sally loved playing cards with family and friends. She enjoyed watching her children’s, grandchildren’s, and even great-children’s many activities and sporting events, and spending time in Michigan and Florida, with her sister Nancy and her nieces, Terri Mucciante and Sally Bentley, who she loved like her own daughters.
Her fierce love of her family was obvious to all, as she always put them first, was eager to please them, and could never say no to any of their requests. They will miss her more than she’ll ever know. In addition to her husband and sons, Sally leaves behind many grandchildren and great-children to cherish her memories: Traci (Robert), Carissa, Melissa, Brandon, Jeremiah, Tyler, Kyle, Paige, Peyton, Preston and Pryce; and great-grandchildren: Randall “Bo,” Gabrielle, Ruby, Parker, Madlyn, and Frances; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her sister, Nancy Robinson; a grandchild, Eric Allen and a great-grandchild, McKenzie Rine.
The family would like to also thank Bella Care Hospice.
The family is respecting Sally’s request to not have a traditional funeral. The family will be arranging a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you hug your loved ones, laugh as often as possible, enjoy life, and make many loving memories with your family.
